Mike Pratico, Jr., graduated from Cornell University with Honors in 1998. Prior to graduating from Cornell, Pratico along with two (2) other partners formed Davanita Design, LLC, an e-strategy and implementation consulting firm.
At Davanita, Pratico was responsible for many of the business operational needs including new business development, human resources, finance, and legal. Most notably, Pratico oversaw a capital infusion and the later sale of the company to Avatar Technology, Inc. Still a principle of the acquiring company, Avatar Technology, Inc., Pratico is actively involved in the Cornell community. He is actively involved with the Cornell Entrepreneurship Network, an alumni group focused on entrepreneurship in the greater New York area.
Additionally, Pratico has spoken on a number of panels for the Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise Program at Cornell (a university wide program that supports entrepreneurship in all eight colleges). Pratico has also been chosen to be a part of Professor Deborah Streeter's distance education initiative for entrepreneurship. Other notable speakers in this group include Jeff Hawkins, creator of the Palm Pilot, and Bill Trenchard, founder of Jump Network (now the calendaring software for MSN).
